Professor Mathematics
Dr. Gonzalez earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1996 in the area of computational and applied mathematics. His research interests are modeling, numerical analysis, differential equations, integral equations, geometry of curves and surfaces.
His main projects are Nystrom-type numerical methods for boundary integral equations, Hydrodynamic transport and diffusion of rigid and flexible particles, Sequence-dependent models for DNA structure prediction, Global curvature and optimal packing of curves with finite thickness, and Structure-preserving numerical methods in classical and continuum mechanics.
